LocationThe initial location of the company was on Silom road which was the first modern street built in the era of King Mongkut. The road was built parallel to the waterway and was first called "Thanon Kwang", meaning Cross Road,as it ran across the direction of Charoenkrung and Thanon Trong (Rama IV) roads. Afterwards, a windmill happened to be built by a Westerner on the road, and it came to be called "Silom" (meaning "windmill" in Thai) from then on. Businesses began to gain a foothold in the area soon after the end of World War II. In 1965, SMC moved its plant operation to Phyathai road. TopBusiness ContactsTop | |
